A fresh, new, start in TENNESSEE!!!!

So, I suppose this post is a little late to fill you all in on what's going on in our world. I promised to keep everyone updated and to share my big surprise, but I forgot in the midst of everything going on.. But for those of you that DONT know already, Michael and I have moved back to TENNESSEE!!!

We have been here for 2 weeks now!!! It was a long process to get us here starting with a big moving trip from PA... That was a trip... So we had the bright idea that we would only need one Uhaul truck for all of our stuff.. YEA RIGHT!! we ended up with TWO Uhaul trucks and a trailer and that was hardly covering everything! We hired a crew to load the trucks and trailer and then we were on our way South! We headed out of town around 6:30, hoping to get to Lexington, KY at some point to catch a few hours of sleep before getting up and starting all over again... We were worn out and we hadn't even left town yet!

But we got on our way... with me leading the pack (scary thought, i know!) this was only because I was the only either NOT in a Uhaul truck or pulling a trailer (not safe!) so anyway, we head out on our merry way! Making pretty good time, we decide to stop and eating, remembering we probably hadnt eaten much all day! As we pull into the Cracker Barrel of our choice, the rain starts... We get some quick food in our bellies and we are back at it...

Around mid-night we are driving and I am a little ways ahead of the gang warning all of pot holes, or anything else that might danger our long procession of cars haulers, moving trucks and trailers. When something starts pelting my window! I quickly starts screaming into the walkie talkies HAIL HAIL HAIL.. of course everyone starts to panic because we have 2 of our prized items in tow! The Covettes, who dont even come out in rail let alone know what hail feels like... this was not good.. luckily it passes quickly, but the lighting and other aspects of the storm don't. we are forced to continue our travels toward KY with lots of "light up the sky" lighting and rain and thunder...

We make it to our stopping point for the night, crawl into bed and get a few hours of shut eye.. I was woken  up by Ebony a.k.a. Erin licking my toes... yes, she slept in the hotel room w/it... ha

We headed on into knoxville.. along the way Michael had noticed that the Uhaul truck he'd been driving had been having multiple "under the hood" problems. At this point, I think he was only in able to use 3rd gear... this was slightly scary and nerve racking due to the fact that we knew we had the big Jellico Mountain to pass before getting into Knoxville... I let Michael get in front of me and we prayed to make it to the top without the truck motor blowing up! The lord was with us, because we made it!!!

Honestly, from that point in the day until we did "house" things, i'm not really sure what we did or what happened. I believe i was extremely overwhelmed at this point! I do remember saying of multiple occasions that morning, "I think Im going to throw up" pretty typical for me though!

We did our Big Boy and Big Girl duties for the day and we officially had a place to live!!! WHOO HOOO!! it's a good thing because we had a lot of things packed in those Uhauls that needed a home!!

So we brought our parents over to show them our new residence for the first time! they are pleased with our choices!! yay!!!!

The unpacking/unloading would start early the next morning.. i was not looking forward to this.. luckily, Michael being the great husband that he is... let me sleep in while he and his dad got the unloaders started for the day!! I arrived around 11, to start unpacking! GREAT!!! i did manage to get the kitchen pretty much set up that day... but the sight of cardboard was pretty overwhelming and we decided to stop for the day! I was pretty excited to find ALL our wedding gifts that hadn't been out of the boxes since opening them last july!!!  IT WAS CHRISTMAS ALL OVER AGAIN!!

Lets jump ahead to NOW...
we are here!! we are moved in!!! Saturday we got the missing piece to make our house complete, NEW LIVING ROOM FURNITURE!! Thanks to some great folks back from my home town, we sold my living room furniture and were able to get a new set for ourselves!! we found exactly what we had been wanting AND Michael got a best buy gift card in the deal... which totally sealed it and we were done!!! The walls are still naked but for the most part we are moved in and life is GREAT!!

someone asked me recently if i was happy here.. and i couldn't really answer because it's quite moving to me... i have longed to be back here, likely since we left 2 years ago.. but it was a sacrifice we had to make... we headed to PA as 2 people, doing a lot of things for the first time.. living together, starting new jobs, living in the north.. i could go on, but you get the point... BUT as Michael would put it into perspective for you.. had we not done that and made the sacrifice, we wouldn't be married right now or able to be doing and have what we have now...  SO, that makes the sacrifices all worth it!

but to finally answer that question Am I happy? Happy doesn't seem like the right word to me... I am content and 100% less stressed than I have been in over 2 years... Living in Tennessee isn't going to be the fix to everything... but right now, life is sweet and we couldn't be happier.. more at ease or content with our new lives... things will change, as they always do... but we are fortunate and have worked hard to get to this point in our lives.. i know things will only continue to get better.. just like growing older!!

We have enjoyed our Memorial Day weekend to the fullest (one more day left)... I start working next week, which is bitter sweet! I am ready to go back to work.. only because I have been bored at home... I see that in order to be a "stay at home_____" I need the blank in there.. and we all know what that blank is... however, that "blank" wont be around for a couple of years, so until then I'll be content as a working girl!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!!!:)
XOXO
